About the Monastery

The "Ascension of our Lord Monastery" was established in April 2001 at "St. Andrew House," a center for Orthodox Christian Studies for the Romanian Episcopate of the OCA in Detroit. There are eight Romanian monastics in residence, originally from the Sambata Monastery in Romania.
